Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Construction and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 8.89% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.198 at the close. J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) added 5.17% or 0.031 points to end at 0.631 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) was up 4.29% or 0.230 points to 5.590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 5.88% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.160 in late trade. Iaso (AT:IASr) declined 5.35% or 0.046 points to end at 0.814 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) shed 4.21% or 0.032 points to 0.728.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 57 to 40 and 12 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.26% or 3.38 to $1282.82 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.15% or 0.08 to hit $51.80 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.03 to trade at $57.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.1774, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8935.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 93.44.
