Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Services and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.12% to hit a new 3-year low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Unacem (LM:CEL), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to trade at 1.540 at the close. Ferreyros (LM:FER) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 1.280 and Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 0.460 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which lost 3.23% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.240 in late trade. Alicorp (LM:ALI) declined 2.73% or 0.150 points to end at 5.350 and Credicorp (LM:BAP) shed 2.23% or 2.000 points to 87.600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 12 to 0 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.35% or 0.41 to $29.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.50% or 0.14 to hit $28.80 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.17% or 1.80 to trade at $1088.90 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.27% to 3.4300, while EUR/PEN rose 0.13% to 3.7359.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 99.17.
