Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Tieto Oyj (HEL:TIE1V), which rose 4.55% or 0.98 points to trade at 22.52 at the close. Stora Enso Oyj R (HEL:STERV) added 3.07% or 0.285 points to end at 9.575 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HEL:UPM1V) was up 2.03% or 0.34 points to 17.09 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KONE Oyj (HEL:KNEBV), which lost 4.75% or 1.73 points to trade at 34.70 in late trade. Wartsila Oyj Abp (HEL:WRT1V) declined 2.82% or 1.15 points to end at 39.68 and Outokumpu Oyj (HEL:OUT1V) shed 1.32% or 0.0540 points to 4.0480.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 67 and 4 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 1.84% or 1.08 to $57.60 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.38% or 1.26 to hit $51.78 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.67% or 7.70 to trade at $1145.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.0963, while EUR/GBP fell 0.43% to 0.7011.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 97.22.
