At the close of U.S. trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.68%, the S&P 500 index gained 0.97%, while the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 1.60%.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, European stock bourses closed higher. France’s CAC 40 was up 0.37%; Germany’s DAX gained 1.26%; Britain’s FTSE 100 climbed 0.55%; and the EURO STOXX 50 rose 0.62%.
