Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT), which rose 3.93% or 0.4725 points to trade at 12.4975 at the close. Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) added 1.67% or 0.0455 points to end at 2.7705 and Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) was up 1.56% or 0.0001 points to 0.0064 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semapa (LISBON:SEM), which lost 2.53% or 0.3150 points to trade at 12.1500 in late trade. Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) declined 1.71% or 0.0100 points to end at 0.5750 and EDP (LISBON:EDP) shed 1.02% or 0.0370 points to 3.5910.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 39 to 24 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 0.40% or 0.23 to $55.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.83% or 0.41 to hit $48.78 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.29% or 3.20 to trade at $1094.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.54% to 1.0988, while EUR/GBP rose 1.20% to 0.7083.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.34% at 97.29.
