Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Retail, Food and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.11% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Corinth Pipe (AT:CORr), which rose 4.77% or 0.043 points to trade at 0.944 at the close. Sidenor (AT:SID) added 4.63% or 0.022 points to end at 0.497 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) was up 4.39% or 0.005 points to 0.119 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Intrakat (AT:INCr), which lost 30.00% or 0.156 points to trade at 0.520 in late trade. Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) declined 10.42% or 0.027 points to end at 0.232 and Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) shed 5.06% or 1.30 points to 24.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 44 to 29 and 5 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.86% or 10.30 to $1192.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.57% or 0.90 to hit $58.22 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.59% or 0.38 to trade at $63.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.0763, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.7212.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.33% at 97.94.
