On the New York Mercantile Exchange, Crude oil futures for January delivery traded at USD77.61 a barrel at time of writing rising 2.31%.
Earlier, it traded at a session high USD77.75 a barrel. Crude oil was likely to find support at USD73.92 and resistance at USD77.75.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.55% to trade at USD88.19.
Elsewhere on the ICE, Brent oil for January delivery rose 2.36% to trade at USD81.20 a barrel, with the spread between the Brent oil and Crude oil contracts stood at USD3.59 a barrel.
