Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Food, Household and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 1.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which rose 6.86% or 0.024 points to trade at 0.374 at the close. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) added 6.19% or 0.035 points to end at 0.600 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) was up 4.55% or 0.01 points to 0.23 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 7.74% or 0.0120 points to trade at 0.1460 in late trade. Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) declined 3.47% or 0.018 points to end at 0.491 and Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) shed 2.86% or 0.010 points to 0.340.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 63 to 31 and 30 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.24% or 2.95 to $1238.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.49% or 0.26 to hit $53.10 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.31% or 0.17 to trade at $55.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.0623, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8548.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 100.82.
