Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.29% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which rose 5.38% or 0.230 points to trade at 4.506 at the close. Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) added 3.46% or 0.305 points to end at 9.120 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) was up 1.12% or 0.21 points to 19.01 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Valmt (HE:VALMT), which lost 1.27% or 0.17 points to trade at 13.22 in late trade. Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) declined 0.88% or 0.29 points to end at 32.54 and KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) shed 0.73% or 0.33 points to 44.84.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 90 to 45 and 14 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 0.70% or 0.35 to $50.54 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.44% or 0.21 to hit $48.45 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.32% or 4.15 to trade at $1312.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1215, while EUR/GBP rose 0.83% to 0.8732.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 95.63.
