Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Moncler SpA (MI:MONC), which rose 2.67% or 0.40 points to trade at 15.40 at the close. Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) added 1.46% or 0.0100 points to end at 0.6950 and Campari (MI:CPRI) was up 1.35% or 0.12 points to 8.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which lost 3.29% or 0.0106 points to trade at 0.3120 in late trade. CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) declined 2.15% or 0.135 points to end at 6.130 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) shed 2.00% or 0.2500 points to 12.2800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 203 to 165 and 39 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.81% or 0.81 to $43.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.77% or 0.82 to hit $45.38 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.75% or 10.00 to trade at $1321.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.58% to 1.0962, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.8371.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.62% at 97.54.
