Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Property, Services and Holding Firms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 1.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Robinsons Land (PS:RLC), which rose 4.53% or 1.150 points to trade at 26.550 at the close. Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM) added 3.88% or 0.170 points to end at 4.550 and Metropolitan B (PS:MBT) was up 3.72% or 2.85 points to 79.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Philex Mining (PS:PX), which lost 1.47% or 0.070 points to trade at 4.690 in late trade. Jg Summit (PS:JGS) declined 1.43% or 1.000 points to end at 69.000 and Universal Robi (PS:URC) shed 0.17% or 0.300 points to 176.000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 99 to 67 and 14 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.31% or 3.30 to $1064.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.51% or 0.56 to hit $36.78 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.27% or 0.49 to trade at $38.10 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.29% to 7.3120, while USD/PHP fell 0.10% to 47.333.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 98.23.
