Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Iron & Steel and Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Aver (TW:3669), which rose 10.00% or 1.35 points to trade at 14.85 at the close. Maxtek Tech (TW:3315) added 10.00% or 1.60 points to end at 17.60 and Victory (TW:1340) was up 9.99% or 6.90 points to 76.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sweeten Const (TW:5525), which lost 9.64% or 1.60 points to trade at 15.00 in late trade. Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418) declined 8.13% or 0.46 points to end at 5.20 and Hiti Digital (TW:3494) shed 7.38% or 1.20 points to 15.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 425 to 414 and 3 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.69% or 0.31 to $45.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.69% or 0.33 to hit $48.18 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.13% or 1.50 to trade at $1168.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.30% to 32.458, while TWD/CNY fell 0.10% to 0.1952.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 95.08.
