Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Motors and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Autodrome PLC (CM:AUTO) added 24.95% or 204.60 points to end at 1024.50 and Ceylon Hospitals PLC (CM:CHL) was up 15.07% or 15.70 points to 119.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which lost 17.76% or 539.70 points to trade at 2500.00 in late trade. Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ) declined 15.58% or 389.40 points to end at 2110.00 and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) shed 11.14% or 3.90 points to 35.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 136 to 90 and 16 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.97% or 0.43 to $44.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.93% or 0.44 to hit $47.78 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.50% or 5.70 to trade at $1126.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.98% to 212.075, while USD/LKR fell 0.82% to 139.825.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 96.18.
