Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Electricity and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.01% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ), which rose 12.73% or 0.070 points to trade at 0.620 at the close. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) added 8.70% or 0.020 points to end at 0.250 and Adel Kalemcilik (IS:ADEL) was up 5.71% or 3.45 points to 63.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which lost 2.46% or 0.55 points to trade at 21.80 in late trade. Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) declined 1.86% or 0.35 points to end at 18.50 and Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK) shed 1.86% or 0.06 points to 3.17.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 284 to 114 and 10 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.47% or 5.30 to $1132.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.95% or 1.33 to hit $46.35 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.80% or 0.85 to trade at $48.33 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.08% to 3.0023, while EUR/TRY fell 0.92% to 3.3662.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.60% at 95.94.
