Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Neste Oil Oyj (HEL:NESTE), which rose 4.09% or 0.96 points to trade at 24.43 at the close. Cargotec Oyj (HEL:CGCBV) added 2.95% or 0.95 points to end at 33.11 and Outotec Oyj (HEL:OTE1V) was up 1.24% or 0.075 points to 6.115 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HEL:NRE1V), which lost 2.88% or 0.83 points to trade at 28.02 in late trade. Valmt (HEL:VALMT) declined 2.24% or 0.25 points to end at 10.90 and Orion Oyj B (HEL:ORNBV) shed 1.40% or 0.54 points to 37.91.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 94 to 77 and 4 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 1.24% or 0.61 to $48.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.93% or 0.87 to hit $44.28 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.54% or 5.90 to trade at $1091.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.0927, while EUR/GBP rose 0.74% to 0.7042.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 97.88.
