Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Food & Beverages and Transport sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kartonsan (IS:KARTN), which rose 5.46% or 12.50 points to trade at 241.50 at the close. Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) added 4.50% or 0.31 points to end at 7.20 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was up 4.35% or 0.010 points to 0.230 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which lost 3.90% or 5.50 points to trade at 135.50 in late trade. Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT) declined 2.58% or 0.25 points to end at 9.43 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) shed 2.52% or 0.65 points to 25.15.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 220 to 183 and 11 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.46% or 5.40 to $1175.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.52% or 0.92 to hit $59.53 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.20% or 0.77 to trade at $62.94 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.03% to 2.7334, while EUR/TRY fell 0.05% to 3.0747.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 95.26.
