Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.27% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND), which rose 1.09% or 0.55 points to trade at 51.12 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 1.06% or 0.700 points to end at 66.860 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 1.04% or 0.205 points to 19.860 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA), which lost 3.26% or 1.37 points to trade at 40.60 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 1.46% or 0.30 points to end at 20.20 and Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) shed 1.32% or 0.060 points to 4.471.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 62 to 55 and 17 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.78% to 15.17.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.25% or 0.56 to $45.49 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.11% or 0.53 to hit $48.16 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.23% or 2.88 to trade at $1242.92 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.1411, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8771.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 95.48.
