Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 2.48% or 6.510 points to trade at 268.500 at the close. Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) added 2.23% or 0.670 points to end at 30.700 and Empresas ICA, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) was up 1.08% or 0.150 points to 14.040 in late trade.
Biggest losers included El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1), which lost 2.72% or 4.700 points to trade at 168.150 in late trade. Compartamos, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GENTERA) declined 2.69% or 0.740 points to end at 26.790 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) shed 2.19% or 0.380 points to 17.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 89 to 46 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.81% or 9.80 to $1204.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.60% or 1.49 to hit $58.55 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.46% or 0.94 to trade at $65.58 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.27% to 15.2159, while EUR/MXN rose 0.95% to 16.9146.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.91% at 95.31.
