On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for December delivery traded at USD1193.70 a troy ounce at time of writing rising 0.02%.
Earlier, it traded at a session high USD1196.60 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1173.90 and resistance at USD1204.10.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, fell 0.01% to trade at USD87.67.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for December delivery rose 0.47% to trade at USD16.218 a troy ounce while Copper for December delivery fell 0.83% to trade at USD3.020 a pound.
