Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which rose 3.48% or 0.140 points to trade at 4.160 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 2.86% or 1.50 points to end at 54.00 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was up 1.91% or 0.91 points to 48.44 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which lost 2.60% or 0.20 points to trade at 7.50 in late trade. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) declined 1.81% or 0.45 points to end at 24.46 and PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) shed 1.75% or 0.70 points to 39.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 266 to 232 and 205 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.36% or 0.16 to $44.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $45.90 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.00% or 0.05 to trade at $1317.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.03% to 4.3017, while USD/PLN rose 0.07% to 3.8512.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 95.89.
