Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Retail, Chemicals and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.96%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr), which rose 9.73% or 0.460 points to trade at 5.190 at the close. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) added 3.19% or 0.014 points to end at 0.453 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) was up 3.17% or 0.040 points to 1.300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Halcor (AT:XAKO), which lost 8.39% or 0.025 points to trade at 0.273 in late trade. Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) declined 7.02% or 0.1700 points to end at 2.2500 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) shed 4.83% or 0.035 points to 0.690.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 58 to 35 and 11 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.03% or 0.35 to $1343.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.89% or 0.42 to hit $47.83 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.10% or 0.54 to trade at $49.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1323, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.8589.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 94.39.
