Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Telecoms and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO), which rose 2.72% or 0.33 points to trade at 12.27 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) added 1.79% or 0.090 points to end at 5.110 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGAT) was up 1.27% or 0.126 points to 10.070 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KPN Kon (AS:KPN), which lost 1.86% or 0.058 points to trade at 3.060 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.47% or 0.710 points to end at 47.650 and ASML Holding (AS:ASML) shed 0.96% or 0.93 points to 96.38.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 90 to 75 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.34% to 16.80 a new 6-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.84% or 0.84 to $44.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.67% or 0.79 to hit $46.38 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.89% or 11.70 to trade at $1331.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1009, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8337.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 97.03.
