Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO), which rose 13.46% or 1.38 points to trade at 11.59 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) added 1.87% or 0.096 points to end at 5.220 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) was up 1.43% or 0.84 points to 59.53 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which lost 1.57% or 0.20 points to trade at 12.84 in late trade. KPN Kon (AS:KPN) declined 0.50% or 0.016 points to end at 3.175 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) shed 0.43% or 0.16 points to 37.23.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 108 to 52 and 15 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.34% to 18.10 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.65% or 0.77 to $45.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.68% or 0.80 to hit $46.81 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.08% or 1.05 to trade at $1328.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.37% to 1.1070, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.8349.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 96.58.
