Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Transport and Sports sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.34% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE), which rose 9.59% or 0.210 points to trade at 2.400 at the close. Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA) added 7.06% or 0.91 points to end at 13.80 and Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE) was up 5.68% or 0.200 points to 3.720 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alarko Holding AS (IS:ALARK), which lost 3.20% or 0.190 points to trade at 5.750 in late trade. Soda Sanayi AS (IS:SODA) declined 3.19% or 0.210 points to end at 6.380 and Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) shed 2.73% or 0.40 points to 14.27.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 170 to 167 and 70 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.76% or 9.62 to $1278.22 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 3.62% or 1.68 to hit $44.78 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 3.57% or 1.74 to trade at $46.98 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.06% to 3.4818, while EUR/TRY fell 0.47% to 3.9279.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 96.44.
