Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Household, Retail and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 9.57% or 0.0180 points to trade at 0.2060 at the close. Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) added 3.57% or 0.300 points to end at 8.700 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was up 2.95% or 0.013 points to 0.453 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which lost 6.54% or 0.0600 points to trade at 0.8570 in late trade. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) declined 3.36% or 0.004 points to end at 0.115 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) shed 2.96% or 0.005 points to 0.165.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 51 to 36 and 24 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 1.10% or 14.00 to $1288.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.62% or 0.28 to hit $44.70 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.80% or 0.37 to trade at $45.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.65% to 1.0954, while EUR/GBP fell 1.38% to 0.8781.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 98.23.
