Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Holdings & Investments, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL), which rose 19.86% or 1.120 points to trade at 6.760 at the close. Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) added 5.47% or 0.18 points to end at 3.47 and Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) was up 5.11% or 0.070 points to 1.440 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tav Havalimanlari (IS:TAVHL), which lost 4.78% or 0.81 points to trade at 16.14 in late trade. Sabanci Holding (IS:SAHOL) declined 3.82% or 0.33 points to end at 8.31 and Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON) shed 3.79% or 0.24 points to 6.09.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 258 to 141 and 11 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.27% or 3.00 to $1125.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 4.32% or 1.36 to hit $30.25 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 3.53% or 1.21 to trade at $33.03 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.26% to 2.9539, while EUR/TRY rose 0.55% to 3.2249.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 98.92.
