On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for April delivery traded at USD1280.10 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 1.04%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1276.90 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1276.90 and resistance at USD1308.80.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, fell 0.29% to trade at USD95.04.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for March delivery fell 1.95% to trade at USD17.943 a troy ounce while Copper for March delivery rose 1.73% to trade at USD2.545 a pound.
