Investing.com - The number of people applying for first-time jobless benefits in the U.S. fell less-than-expected last week, official data showed on Thursday.

In a report, Department of Labor said that U.S. initial jobless claims fell to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 294K, from 298K in the prior week.

Analysts had expected U.S. initial jobless claims to fall to 290K last week.
