Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Beverages & Tobacco and Land & Property sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) added 16.04% or 9.40 points to end at 68.00 and Hotel Sigiriya PLC (CM:HSIG) was up 12.24% or 12.00 points to 110.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL), which lost 10.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.900 in late trade. Eden Hotel Lanka PLC (CM:EDEN) declined 8.12% or 1.90 points to end at 21.50 and Serendib Hotels PLC (CM:SHOT) shed 7.40% or 2.90 points to 36.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 138 to 98 and 14 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.63% or 0.26 to $41.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.82% or 0.38 to hit $46.24 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.09% or 1.00 to trade at $1152.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.31% to 209.145, while USD/LKR fell 0.58% to 133.305.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 95.46.
