Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Retail, Basic Resources and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.92%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which rose 6.41% or 0.042 points to trade at 0.697 at the close. Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) added 6.15% or 0.280 points to end at 4.830 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was up 6.03% or 0.007 points to 0.123 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Halcor (AT:XAKO), which lost 13.03% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.267 in late trade. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) declined 9.80% or 0.015 points to end at 0.138 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) shed 6.98% or 0.044 points to 0.586.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 56 to 33 and 12 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.35% or 4.60 to $1327.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.18% or 0.08 to hit $45.60 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $47.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.50% to 1.1065, while EUR/GBP rose 0.50% to 0.8362.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 96.57.
