Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 4.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr), which rose 25.00% or 0.023 points to trade at 0.115 at the close. Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) added 24.64% or 0.017 points to end at 0.086 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) was up 23.61% or 0.09 points to 0.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr), which lost 9.68% or 0.027 points to trade at 0.279 in late trade. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) declined 4.55% or 0.50 points to end at 11.00 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) shed 4.49% or 0.17 points to 3.62.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 62 to 30 and 6 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.18% or 2.00 to $1134.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.11% or 0.96 to hit $46.50 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 2.71% or 1.30 to trade at $49.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.00% to 1.1211, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.7386.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 96.03.
