Mexico shares lower at close of trade; IPC down 1.25%
Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services, Materials and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 1.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1), which rose 2.04% or 4.200 points to trade at 209.980 at the close. PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) added 0.58% or 1.040 points to end at 181.730 and Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB) was down 0.09% or 0.050 points to 55.110 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 4.18% or 0.950 points to trade at 21.800 in late trade. Gruma, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GRUMAB) declined 3.04% or 7.010 points to end at 224.630 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) shed 2.51% or 1.040 points to 40.380.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 91 to 51 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.20% or 2.20 to $1122.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.67% or 0.78 to hit $45.97 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.26% or 1.15 to trade at $49.53 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.73% to 16.9197, while EUR/MXN rose 1.01% to 18.8887.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 96.24.
