BERLIN (Reuters) - German industrial orders fell by 2.4 percent on the month in November, a much steeper drop than the 0.7 percent fall forecast in a Reuters poll, in a reminder that Germany's recovery from near recession in the middle of 2014 remains fragile.
The decrease was driven by a fall in big ticket orders, and in particular by a decline in domestic orders of 4.7 percent, while foreign orders slipped 0.7 percent. Intermediate goods fell 2.3 percent.
The data for October was upwardly revised to a rise of 2.9 percent from a previously reported 2.5 percent.
