Investing.com - The number of building permits issued in Canada rose more-than-expected last month, official data showed on Thursday.

In a report, Statistics Canada said that Canadian building permits rose to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 11.6%, from -0.3% in the prior month whose figure was revised up from -0.9%.

Analysts had expected Canadian building permits to rise to 2.5% last month.
