Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 2.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which rose 4.19% or 0.22 points to trade at 5.52 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) added 4.18% or 1.89 points to end at 47.15 and Umicore NV (BR:UMI) was up 3.73% or 1.55 points to 43.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UCB (BR:UCB), which lost 2.17% or 1.50 points to trade at 67.75 in late trade. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 0.84% or 0.41 points to end at 49.84 and Elia (BR:ELI) gained 1.29% or 0.560 points to 44.080.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 109 to 39 and 7 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.97% or 12.30 to $1260.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.35% or 0.89 to hit $38.73 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.05% or 0.42 to trade at $40.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.1177, while EUR/GBP fell 0.93% to 0.7754.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 96.03.
