Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Trading, Land & Property and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Bogawantalawa Tea Estates PLC (CM:BOPL) added 21.15% or 2.20 points to end at 12.60 and Arpico Finance Company PLC (CM:ARPI) was up 15.19% or 32.70 points to 248.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT), which lost 24.96% or 462.10 points to trade at 1389.00 in late trade. Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ) declined 19.98% or 499.40 points to end at 2000.00 and PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) shed 16.67% or 0.10 points to 0.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 139 to 59 and 23 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.13% or 0.04 to $34.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.59% or 0.22 to hit $37.28 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.54% or 5.70 to trade at $1055.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.03% to 214.040, while USD/LKR rose 0.05% to 143.570.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 99.00.
