Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Optoelectronic and Glass sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 1.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Airmate (TW:1626), which rose 10.00% or 2.70 points to trade at 29.70 at the close. Hannstar Touch (TW:3049) added 9.96% or 0.51 points to end at 5.63 and Super Dragon (TW:9955) was up 9.82% or 1.35 points to 15.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Faraday Tech (TW:3035), which lost 7.85% or 4.30 points to trade at 50.50 in late trade. Largan Precisi (TW:3008) declined 7.48% or 220.00 points to end at 2720.00 and Evertex (TW:1470) shed 6.30% or 1.25 points to 18.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 672 to 167 and 2 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.64% or 0.29 to $45.49 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.28% or 0.14 to hit $48.24 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.43% or 4.70 to trade at $1108.90 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.16% to 32.477, while TWD/CNY rose 0.05% to 0.1957.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 98.19.
