On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for December delivery traded at USD1087.50 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.53%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1081.90 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1081.90 and resistance at USD1104.90.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.41% to trade at USD97.62.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for September delivery fell 0.26% to trade at USD14.705 a troy ounce while Copper for September delivery fell 1.23% to trade at USD2.378 a pound.
