Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI), which rose 1.75% or 0.0250 points to trade at 1.4500 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (LISBON:NOS) added 0.79% or 0.0530 points to end at 6.7570 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP) was down 0.12% or 0.0001 points to 0.0850 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae (LISBON:YSO), which lost 5.11% or 0.0700 points to trade at 1.2990 in late trade. Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) declined 4.02% or 0.1305 points to end at 3.1195 and Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) shed 3.06% or 0.1245 points to 3.9415.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 62 to 7 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 1.75% or 1.08 to $63.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.16% or 0.09 to hit $56.70 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.21% or 14.50 to trade at $1188.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.0728, while EUR/GBP fell 0.76% to 0.7138.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.00% at 98.21.
