Investing.com – Malaysia equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Mining and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI declined 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were , which unchanged % or points to trade at at the close. unchanged % or points to end at and Petronas Dagangan Bhd (KL:PETR) was up 0.57% or 0.12 points to 21.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd (KL:HLCB), which lost 1.77% or 0.30 points to trade at 16.64 in late trade. British American Tobacco (M) Bhd (KL:BATO) declined 1.65% or 1.10 points to end at 65.50 and Genting Malaysia Bhd (KL:GENM) shed 1.57% or 0.07 points to 4.38.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 71 to 29 and 4 ended unchanged on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.53% or 0.30 to $56.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.45% or 0.28 to hit $61.80 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.09% or 1.10 to trade at $1202.00 a troy ounce.
SGD/MYR was down 0.26% to 2.6786, while USD/MYR fell 0.83% to 3.5976.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.55% at 97.66.
