Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Banking and Food sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.97%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which rose 6.76% or 0.75 points to trade at 11.85 at the close. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) added 2.73% or 0.30 points to end at 11.30 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 2.25% or 0.53 points to 24.08 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which lost 3.66% or 2.50 points to trade at 65.77 in late trade. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 3.26% or 1.10 points to end at 32.60 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) shed 2.31% or 1.32 points to 55.83.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 298 to 283 and 183 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.08% or 0.57 to $53.18 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 1.00% or 0.55 to hit $55.63 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.64% or 7.95 to trade at $1224.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.08% to 4.2958, while USD/PLN fell 0.54% to 4.0700.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 101.91.
