Investing.com - The huge cryptocurrency rally of 2017 caught the attention of the world's wealthy investors, according to a new report.
Capgemini's 22nd annual World Wealth Report, which tracks investment trends of high net worth individuals,
found that more than half of those surveyed have at least some interest in cryptocurrencies.
Slightly less than a third, 29%, of the 2,600 people surveyed globally said they had a high degree of interest. About 27% had only some interest in digital coins.
On a regional basis, Latin America had the highest overall interest at almost 90%. North America had the lowest, with 46% expressing interest.
Despite that level of interest, only 34% of the high net worth individuals surveyed said they had received information about cryptocurrencies from their wealth management advisors.
High net worth individuals generally have between $1-5 million dollars in liquid financial assets.
