Benzinga - Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano (CRYPTO: ADA), has reached out to Sam Altman, the former CEO of OpenAI, asking for a collaborative venture.

What Happened: Hoskinson proposed the idea on X by inviting Altman to work on a decentralized large language model (LLM) project, which could be integrated with Cardano’s Partner Chain ecosystem.

"Sam since you have some free time now. If you are interested in doing a decentralized LLM, then hit me up. Would be a fun Cardano Partnerchain," Hoskinson tweeted.

This comes as Microsoft has announced that it is bringing onboard Altman along with Greg Brockman, co-founder of OpenAI, as part of a strategic move to bolster its new advanced AI research team.

Following a dramatic exit from OpenAI, the board lost confidence in Altman’s leadership capabilities.

Why It Matters: Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella expressed enthusiasm about the new addition to the team: "We're extremely excited to share the news that Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, together with colleagues, will be joining Microsoft to lead a new advanced AI research team.”

Regarding Altman’s shift to Microsoft, Nadella added, "We look forward to moving quickly to provide them with the resources needed for their success."

This transition for Altman comes after a reported breakdown in negotiations intended to reinstate him at OpenAI. The organization’s four-person board stood firm, refusing to relent in their positions, which would have been necessary for his return. In light of these events, former Twitch CEO and co-founder Emmett Shear has been assigned as interim CEO, reported The Verge, succeeding Mira Murati, who served briefly in the role after Altman’s unexpected dismissal.

Price Action: At the time of writing, ADA was trading at $0.38, up 6% in the last 24 hours, according to Benzinga Pro.
