Benzinga - Shiba Inu (CRYPTO: SHIB) was among the top favorite holdings in new crypto wallets, with more than 12,000 fresh wallets seeing holding the meme coin over the last seven days leading up to Jan.19, 2023.
What Happened: According to Nansen data, these wallets saw $56 million in SHIB inflows over the period, making it the top non-stablecoin asset held in their balances.
Data from CoinMarketCap, gathered in mid-January by Benzinga, showed that 1.28 million addresses are currently holding SHIB, with active addresses reaching 14,645 in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, active Dogecoin CRYPTO: DOGE) addresses stood at 10,558 in the last 24 hours.
At the time of writing, the number of addresses holding SHIB stands at 1.29 million, and the number of active addresses was 14,645. Comparatively, the total number of unique addresses that hold DOGE stood at 4.8 million. There was no data available on the 24-hour active DOGE addresses.

SHIB has shot up 26.1% since the year began, but it has slipped nearly 9.6% in the last seven days. At the time of publishing, the coin fell 1.2% to $0.00001 over 24 hours.
