Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Freni Brembo SpA (MI:BRBI), which rose 1.72% or 0.23 points to trade at 13.57 at the close. STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) added 1.23% or 0.160 points to end at 13.150 and Prysmian (MI:PRY) was up 1.19% or 0.31 points to 26.47 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset (MI:MS), which lost 3.07% or 0.102 points to trade at 3.220 in late trade. FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) declined 2.81% or 0.21 points to end at 7.27 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) shed 2.61% or 0.36 points to 13.43.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 186 to 155 and 22 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.50% or 1.14 to $44.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.52% or 1.21 to hit $46.90 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.01% or 12.38 to trade at $1210.92 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.1404, while EUR/GBP rose 0.51% to 0.8853.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 95.80.
