Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Finmeccanica (MI:SIFI), which rose 2.49% or 0.330 points to trade at 13.560 at the close. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) added 2.34% or 0.3000 points to end at 13.1000 and Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) was up 1.72% or 0.0200 points to 1.1820 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unicredit (MI:CRDI), which lost 2.08% or 0.1150 points to trade at 5.4100 in late trade. Saipem (MI:SPMI) declined 1.85% or 0.1500 points to end at 7.9550 and Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) shed 1.73% or 0.125 points to 7.095.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 233 to 196 and 3 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.41% or 0.17 to $41.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.28% or 0.56 to hit $44.74 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.18% or 1.90 to trade at $1076.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.84% to 1.0644, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.7008.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.61% at 99.68.
