Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Staples and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 4.29% or 21.550 points to trade at 523.910 at the close. VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) added 2.72% or 0.77 points to end at 29.04 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) was up 2.61% or 0.610 points to 23.970 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA), which lost 2.97% or 1.790 points to trade at 58.410 in late trade. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) declined 2.37% or 1.540 points to end at 63.310 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) shed 2.31% or 0.660 points to 27.910.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 173 to 104 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.76% or 9.20 to $1217.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.41% or 0.22 to hit $53.66 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.09% or 0.05 to trade at $56.77 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.07% to 20.5464, while EUR/MXN fell 0.02% to 22.1112.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 99.83.
