Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.89% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK), which rose 4.24% or 0.230 points to trade at 5.650 at the close. Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) added 3.56% or 0.100 points to end at 2.910 and Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) was up 2.99% or 0.180 points to 6.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA), which lost 8.70% or 0.200 points to trade at 2.100 in late trade. Tat Konserve (IS:TATGD) declined 5.23% or 0.380 points to end at 6.880 and Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) shed 2.90% or 0.150 points to 5.020.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 200 to 127 and 79 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.83% or 10.55 to $1266.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.49% or 0.24 to hit $48.99 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.21 to trade at $51.92 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.29% to 3.5825, while EUR/TRY rose 0.97% to 3.9209.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 98.64.
