Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Information Technology, Services and Diversified Holdings sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR), which rose 28.57% or 0.200 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) added 22.22% or 0.200 points to end at 1.100 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 20.00% or 0.1000 points to 0.6000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gestetner of Ceylon PLC (CM:GEST), which lost 19.19% or 22.80 points to trade at 96.00 in late trade. Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) declined 18.67% or 310.20 points to end at 1351.00 and Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) shed 17.85% or 499.90 points to 2300.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 107 to 55 and 48 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $50.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $53.49 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.32% or 3.95 to trade at $1247.25 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.47% to 189.765, while USD/LKR fell 0.18% to 151.860.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 100.47.
