On the New York Mercantile Exchange, Natural gas futures for February delivery traded at USD3.168 per million British thermal units at time of writing rising 4.45%.
Earlier, it traded at a session high USD3.168 per million British thermal units. Natural gas was likely to find support at USD3.007 and resistance at USD3.215.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.23% to trade at USD90.52.
Elsewhere on the Nymex, Crude oil for February delivery fell 3.18% to trade at USD52.99 a barrel while Heating oil for February delivery fell 3.00% to trade at USD1.8276 per gallon.
